Amazon is among one of the most profitable companies in the world. But the problem is that many people start to feel distanced from the brands soul, instead only seeing a huge, even dystopian, mega-corporation among the eCommerce world.
My goal with this project is to rebrand Amazon to reflect the ideals of the company, while creating a brand identity that brings back the approachable, humane feel that will help bring amazon back down to earth for many.
Currently Amazon’s logo is already quite effective, although the treatment of typography feels a bit uninspired. The typography has been updated to a fully custom logotype that is a rounded, spurless typeface.
This helps to bring a bit more of a approachable feel, that paired with the iconic smile, creates a brand whose identity should appeal to the whole family. Which is especially important as Amazon continues to evolve and expand into new industries, including entertainment.
